Bowerman Family Fund Launches Grant Cycle

Bartlesville Community Foundation is pleased to announce that a grant cycle for Fall 2009 has launched.The Bowerman Family Fund, a component fund with BCF, is making grant awards of up to $3,000 available in a number of program categories. Â


Charlie and Corky Bowerman established a fund with BCF several years ago.“Bartlesville Community Foundation provides an outstanding opportunity for us to contribute to our community in a meaningful way,” says Charlie Bowerman.“Through the foundation, we have the opportunity to consider a number of different programs that are addressing critical needs in our area, all while taking advantage of the community expertise and administrative ease that BCF offers.We love Bartlesville and are committed to doing what we can to make it an even better place to live and work – BCF allows us to achieve that objective.”Â


The grant cycle provides awards, up to $3,000 each, in three key areas:Community Spirit, Legacy Building, and Future Focus.Community spirit focuses on programs/initiatives that bring the people of Bartlesville together, elevating the sense of community and contributing a tangible end-product that will enhance community spirit and pride.Legacy Building involves programs/initiatives that honor the history of the community, or encourage civic and community service in sustaining the quality of life in Bartlesville, leaving a legacy for future generations.Future Focus relates to programs/initiatives that seek to identify key components of our community’s future vitality and advance efforts toward achieving that vision.  Â


“It’s an honor for us to work with the Bowerman family to achieve their charitable objectives,” reports Julia Crouch, executive director for BCF.“Through the community foundation, the Bowermans are able to identify specific areas of interest to their family and make grants available through this customized grant cycle, all while utilizing the services and support provided by BCF to make the process as efficient and effective as possible.” Â
